Nutrient mixture as a promising adjunct to standard treatment of pancreatic cancer

Antitumor effect of a combination of lysine, proline, arginine, ascorbic acid, and green tea extract on pancreatic cancer cell line MIA PaCa-2.

This study evaluated the effect of a nutrient mixture containing lysine, proline, arginine, ascorbic acid and green tea extract on pancreatic cancer.
The experiments, performed with cells, showed that the nutrient mixture inhibited the production of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). MMPs are substances produced by cancer cells to digest the surrounding tissues and spread through the body.
The authors concluded that the nutrient mixture is a promising adjunct to standard treatment of pancreatic cancer.
