Summary

This study investigated the blood levels of vitamin D in diabetic patients. 100 adolescents, including 60 with diabetes and 40 without the disease, were included. The results showed that vitamin D deficiency was associated with poor control of blood sugar levels in adolescents with diabetes. The authors concluded that vitamin D deficiency should be corrected by the implementation of regular vitamin D supplementation, intake of vitamin D-rich foods and increased outdoors activities. Further details can be found in the study.
