Summary

This review collected studies on the association between green tea consumption and the prevention of age-related bone loss in elderly women and men. Different aspects were investigated such as green tea composition, involvement of oxidative stress (imbalance between free radicals production and the body´s antioxidant defenses) and the protective effects of green tea against osteoporosis. The authors discovered that green tea can decrease the risk of fracture by improving bone mineral density. More details can be found in the study.
