Inflammation causes tissue-specific depletion of vitamin B6.
The aim of the present study was to examine the association between vitamin B6 status and inflammation. For this purpose, a human trial was performed together with experiments in an animal (rat) model of inflammation. The researchers found that inflammation was responsible for the depletion of vitamin B6 in animal and human tissues. Further details can be found in the study.
