Summary

The aim of this study was to assess the vitamin D status in children with kidney diseases. For this purpose, blood levels of vitamin D were measured in 127 children with kidney disease. A deficiency or insufficiency of vitamin D were observed in more than 43 % of the children. The researchers therefore stressed the necessity to develop new strategies in vitamin D supplementation in children with kidney diseases. Further details can be found in the study.
