Vitamin B1 improves heart function

Thiamine supplementation in symptomatic chronic heart failure: a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, cross-over pilot study.

This study evaluated the effect of vitamin B1 (thiamine) supplementation in patients with heart failure. 9 patients were given vitamin B1 or a placebo for 28 days. The results showed that vitamin B1 had beneficial effects on the heart function of the studied heart failure patients. Further details can be found in the study.
