Vitamin B1 improves mental function

Thiamine and Alzheimer's Disease

This study evaluated the effects of thiamine (vitamin B1) in patients with Alzheimer's disease. Patients received either vitamin B1 or an ineffective placebo for 3 months. 11 participants completed the study. The results demonstrated that vitamin B1 supplementation improved the mental function of Alzheimer’s patients, as compared to those taking a placebo. More details can be found in the study.
