Summary

This study examined the relationship between vitamin C intake and the risk of coronary heart disease.
85,118 women completed a questionnaire to assess the consumption of vitamin C and other nutrients and were followed up for 16 years for the development of coronary heart disease.
It was found that vitamin C supplements can reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.
