Summary

The present study evaluated the relationship between blood levels of zinc and chronic liver disease in children. Data from 60 children suffering from chronic liver disease were compared with data from 30 healthy children. The results showed that children with chronic liver disease had lower levels of zinc, as compared to healthy children. The researchers concluded that zinc supplementation should constitute part of the micronutrient intake of children with liver disease. More details can be found in the study.
