Zinc reduces inflammation in patients with liver disease

Efficacy of Zinc Administration in Patients with Hepatitis C Virus-Related Chronic Liver Disease

This study examined the effects of zinc and carnosine in patients with liver disease. Polaprezinc, a complex of zinc and the natural compound carnosine, was administrated to 14 patients for 6 months. The results showed that polaprezinc had an anti-inflammatory effect in patients with liver disease. More details can be found in the study.
