Summary

Researchers from Sri Lanka and Australia examined the effects of a specific micronutrient product containing lysine, zinc, and vitamin C, on pre-diabetes. 110 participants were recruited and divided into two groups: an intervention group (participants receiving the micronutrient product) and a placebo group. The results showed that the micronutrient supplement improved important parameters involved in diabetes, indicating a reduced progression to diabetes in these participants. Additionally, a reduction of total and LDL cholesterol was observable in the intervention group. After the test period, a higher percentage of diabetes patients was observed in the placebo group (25.4% vs. 7.3%). Please see the study for more details.
