Summary
This study investigated the relationship between oxidative stress (damage caused by free radicals) and chronic kidney failure in patients undergoing dialysis (process of blood purification in patients with kidney failure). Blood levels of vitamin C were measured before and after vitamin C administration. It was found that vitamin C supplementation had beneficial effects in dialysis patients, i.e. by decreasing compounds that are known to worsen chronic kidney failure. More details can be found in the study.
