Summary

Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha) is a pro-inflammatory factor whose levels are elevated in patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). This study evaluated the effect of vitamin C (ascorbic acid) on virus activation following treatment with inflammatory factors. The experiments were performed with cells. The results showed that vitamin C reduced virus activation. Further details can be found in the study.
