Summary

This research explored the question of whether intake recommendations for calcium are sufficient to maintain bone health. For this purpose, the study authors collected data on calcium intake recommendations. Based on their analyses the researchers concluded that current calcium intake recommendations (ranging between 600 mg and 800 mg calcium per day) are too low. This was explained by the significant relationship between calcium intake and bone mass. More details can be found in the study.
