Summary

This study investigated whether epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and Polyphenon E (Poly E), a mixture of green tea catechins, suppress inflammation-related colon cancer. Colonic tumors were induced in male mice aged 5 weeks. The animals received drinking water containing EGCG or Poly E for 17 weeks. The results provided evidence that the tested micronutrient combination supported the suppression of cancer development in the inflamed colon. Further details can be found in the study.
