Summary

High oxidative stress and chronic inflammation may contribute to the development of coronary heart disease. Therefore, a study from Taiwan investigated the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects of coenzyme Q10 in patients with coronary heart disease who were taking statins. The subjects were randomly divided into two groups. One group received 300 mg of coenzyme Q10 daily for 12 weeks, while the other received a placebo. The researchers concluded that coenzyme Q10 supplementation significantly increased antioxidant enzyme activity and decreased inflammation. You can find more details in the study.
