Summary

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is associated with inflammatory processes. This Iranian study investigated the effect of coenzyme Q10 supplementation on inflammatory and anti-inflammatory parameters in patients with MS. In the study, 48 MS patients were divided into a placebo group or a supplementation receiving 500 mg of coenzyme Q10 daily. After 12 weeks, the researchers documented a significantly decreased level of inflammatory substances in the supplementation group compared to patients in the placebo group. This means that coenzyme Q10 supplementation reduces inflammation in MS patients. More details can be found in the study.
