Summary

A combination of vitamin C, thiamine (vitamin B1), and hydrocortisone was investigated in 24 patients with septic shock after cardiac surgery. The participants were divided into two groups: group 1 received a placebo, and group 2 received a combination of the mentioned micronutrients. After 4 days, the required vasopressor dose (medication that tends to increase blood pressure) was measured. The results showed that the micronutrient combination reduced the vasopressor requirement in adults with septic shock after cardiac surgery. More details can be found in the study.
