Summary

According to several studies, curcumin could be beneficial in the prevention and treatment of common diseases, including infectious diseases. Curcumin has, among others, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory and anti-microbial effects, making it an effective substance to inhibit related diseases. Additionally, curcumin is inexpensive, does not have any adverse side effects, and could also be a beneficial alternative treatment since drug resistance becomes an increasing global health problem.
