Summary

The present study was designed to examine the effect of curcumin on kidney (renal) function and oxidative stress (imbalance between free radicals and the body antioxidant defenses) in diabetes. Diabetic rats were divided into four groups, namely control rats, diabetic rats and diabetic rats treated with curcumin (15 and 30 mg/kg) for 2 weeks. The results showed that chronic treatment with curcumin significantly attenuated renal dysfunction and oxidative stress in diabetic rats. Further details can be found in the study.
