Summary

This study evaluated the effects of an extract from Polygonum cuspidatum (PCE), commonly called Japanese knotweed, on inflammation. This plant is an important source of resveratrol. During the study, 20 normal-weight healthy individuals were given either a placebo or PCE containing 40 mg resveratrol daily for 6 weeks. The researchers found that the PCE has a suppressive effect on inflammation. Further details can be found in the study.
