Summary

This review provides an overview of the currently available evidences on the effect of vitamin K supplementation in the management of diabetes. The results reported the beneficial role of vitamin K supplementation in preventing insulin resistance (the diminished ability of the body to respond to the action of insulin in decreasing blood sugars) and reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes. The authors concluded that the outcome of this review will increase the understanding for the development of a novel therapy to achieve a better control of blood sugar levels and improve the lives of diabetic patients.
