Summary

A study executed by researchers from Germany and Northern Ireland showed that a diet rich in flavonoids improves gut health by creating a more diverse composition of the microbiome. The study was performed with 904 German people. Specifically, an association of up to 15% was observed between lower systolic blood pressure and flavonoid-rich food, showing the key role of a diverse gut microbiome in preventing high blood pressure. More details are found in the study.
