Summary

This study analyzed the relationship between oxidative stress (imbalance between the production of free radicals and the antioxidant defenses of the body), tuberculosis and the role of green tea extract in repairing the damage caused by oxidative stress. The experiments were performed with mice. The results showed that there are high levels of oxidative stress during early stages of tuberculosis and that antioxidants, such as green tea extract, can reduce oxidative stress. More details can be found in the study.
