Summary

This study, conducted by the University of Rome, Italy, aimed to investigate the potential neuroprotective effects of vitamins B1, B6, and B12 in multiple sclerosis patients. 16 patients were involved and treated with oral nutritional supplements containing 300 mg of vitamin B1, 450 mg of vitamin B6 and 1500 µg of vitamin B12 for 90 days. Among others, eye function was measured and evaluated from the start of the study up to the third month of treatment. A significant improvement in eye vision was observed. In conclusion, this study showed that supplementation with vitamins B1, B6, and B12 improved visual function and disability in multiple sclerosis patients. Further details can be found in the study.
