Summary

This study evaluated the effect of the amino acid lysine against leukemia. Various analyses were performed, including those of cells. It was found that lysine was able to induce the death of malignant cells and decrease metalloproteinases (MMPs). MMPs are substances produced by malignant cells to digest the surrounding tissues and spread through the body. In conclusion, the results showed that the amino acid lysine counteracts leukemia progression. Further details can be found in the study.
