Summary

This review evaluated studies on the effects of omega-3 fatty acids in inflammation and autoimmune diseases (diseases that occur when the body is attacked by the immune system). Animal experiments and human studies indicate that omega-3 fatty acids have anti-inflammatory properties and, therefore, can be useful in the management of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. Further details can be found in the study.
