Summary

Polyunsaturated fatty acids, like omega-3, are essential for several processes in the body, including inflammation. This study sought to determine the relationship between levels of polyunsaturated fatty acids and endometriosis, a disease of the female reproductive system. 205 women were involved in this study. The results showed that women with high levels of omega-3 fatty acids in their blood were 82% less likely to have endometriosis than women with low levels of omega-3 fatty acids. Further details can be found in the study.
