Summary

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of resveratrol on colitis (inflammation of the colon). 6-week-old mice were randomly assigned to two dietary groups: one receiving a standard diet and the other one a diet enriched with resveratrol. After 30 days acute colitis was artificially induced. The results showed that the resveratrol-enriched diet reduced inflammation. The authors therefore concluded that resveratrol represents a novel approach to the treatment of colitis. Further details can be found in the study.
