Summary

The brains of Alzheimer’s disease patients contain amyloid plaques, which are believed to play a key role in the development of this brain disease. This study tested the ability of resveratrol, a naturally occurring compound found in red wine, peanuts, soy beans and pomegranates, in reducing amyloid plaques. Mice were fed resveratrol for 45 days. The results showed that resveratrol reduced plaque formation. More details can be found in the study.
