Summary

This Iranian study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the amino acid taurine in patients with heart failure. 16 patients with heart failure were involved in the study and divided into two groups: a supplementation group (8 patients), receiving 500 mg taurine three times per day for two weeks, and a placebo group (8 patients). The results showed, among others, that taurine supplementation significantly enhanced physical function and improved heart function and functional capacity in patients with heart failure.
