Summary
This review summarized current knowledge on the effect of vitamin D on type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus and on vascular complications associated with this disease. Several studies have provided evidence for the role of vitamin D in diabetes mellitus and found a potential link between low vitamin D levels and diabetes. More details can be found in the review.
