Summary
This review, executed by Polish researchers, aimed to present the effect of vitamin D on immune function and review human clinical studies on the use of vitamin D as adjuvant therapy in type 1 diabetes. Many studies have demonstrated, for instance, that appropriate supplementation with vitamin D reduces the risk of autoimmune diseases, including type 1 diabetes, and alleviates disease symptoms in patients.
