Summary

This review, executed by the University of Lublin, Poland, discusses the correlation between vitamin D levels and nerve cell damage in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). Vitamin D has been shown to decrease the onset and progression of MS. Furthermore, it has been associated with significantly lower damage to nerve cells and improved inflammation levels, indicating that vitamin D intake could lower the risk of MS progression. The Polish review presented new findings, showing that vitamin D supplementation could benefit MS patients due to the ability of vitamin D to reduce new damage to nerve cells. More details can be found in the review.
