Summary

This study analyzed the effects of vitamin E and coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) supplementation on inflammation. Inflammation is associated with abnormalities in blood vessels. It can be induced by a high-fat diet and is associated with cardiovascular diseases. The experiments were performed with 21 baboons which were fed a high-fat diet for 7 weeks. The results showed that the dietary supplementation with vitamin E reduced inflammation. Moreover, the additional supplementation of CoQ10 significantly enhanced the anti-inflammatory effect of vitamin E. More details can be found in the study.
