Summary
This meta-analysis investigated the association between the intake of antioxidant vitamins and the risk of cervical cancer. The analysis included data from 22 studies involving more than 10,000 participants. It was found that the intake of vitamin B12, vitamin C, vitamin E and beta-carotene were associated with a significant reduction of cervical cancer risk. According to the researchers, this meta-analysis indicated that antioxidant vitamins have a preventive effect on cervical cancer.
