A green tea compound prevents liver toxicity

Effect of dietary epigallocatechin-3-gallate on cytochrome P450 2E1-dependent alcoholic liver damage: enhancement of fatty acid oxidation.

This study evaluated the effects of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), a compound found in the green tea, on liver damage. The experiments were performed with rats. The results showed that EGCG prevents liver damage and can be useful in treating patients with liver diseases. Further details can be found in the study.
