Summary

This study investigated the effect of vitamin E in the treatment of sudden hearing loss.
A total of 66 patients with sudden hearing loss were divided in 2 groups.
One group was treated with bed rest, steroids, magnesium and carbogen inhalation; the remaining group was treated with bed rest, steroids, magnesium and carbogen inhalation plus vitamin E.
The results showed that patients treated with vitamin E achieved better recovery than patients who did not receive the vitamin.
