Summary

This Japanese study aimed to evaluate the effects of magnesium and taurine supplementation on oxidative stress and the function of specific cells involved in cellular repair processes. Healthy men and rats received taurine, magnesium, or placebo for 2 respectively 4 weeks during this study. The study showed that magnesium and taurine supplementation increased the levels of cells involved in repairing vascular cells and decreased the level of oxidative stress due to their antioxidative effects. The risk of cardiovascular events was reduced through these processes, and the patients’ lifespan was prolonged. More details can be found in the study.
