Summary

A systematic review and meta-analysis were used to investigate the effect of dietary supplementation with coenzyme Q10 on the lipid profile of patients with coronary heart disease. The lipid profile is considered an important indicator for the development of heart disease. 8 studies were included, with 267 participants in intervention groups and 259 in placebo groups. Patients who received coenzyme Q10 showed a reduction in total cholesterol and an increase in HDL (“good cholesterol”) cholesterol levels. Further details can be found in the study.
