This study aimed to analyze the effects of a leucine-enriched amino acid supplement on muscle mass, muscle strength, and physical function in stroke patients with sarcopenia. The study involved 44 elderly stroke patients who took the aforementioned supplement for eight weeks. The subjects also performed a low-intensity rehabilitation program. The result showed that the combined therapy consisting of the leucine amino acid supplement and light strength training improved body functions after stroke.
