Summary
Aging is known to be associated with inflammation on the one hand and zinc deficiency on the other. This study therefore investigated whether zinc supplementation reduces inflammation in the elderly. 19 healthy elderly people participated in the study. The results showed that zinc supplementation reduced inflammation and, in contrast to other anti-inflammatory drugs, boosted the immune system. Further details can be found in the study.
